I'm having so much fun getting to know this culture and re-connecting with Rosa.. so glad i came earlier to get into things here! i'm loving the culture here, and seeing the way they do things, they're very respectful people, whenever you walk into a friends house, you say "swadeekha" and do a little bow.
There is a lot of idol worship that goes on here too which is really sad, a lot of people worship the "spirits" and have "spirit" houses right outside their homes. The picture below is a buddhist temple where people go to make merit. they believe if they do enough of "good things" that they will make it to heaven.
We explored the old city of Chiang Mai, found fun places to take pictures, I found a little tripod that works really well with taking pictures with two people=).
God is doing a good work in the lives of people here even in the midst of darkness, a lady that has a laundry mat close to IGO gave her heart to the Lord, she had been searching for quite some time and found peace now.
This was at "Just Koy Soi" restaurant,this is noodle soup
and we ate it with chopsticks, a good cultural experience=)
I believe the aprons are a good thing to wear when eating noodle soup with chopsticks,
Tommorow I move into the IGO school,(since I got here I was staying with Rosa at her house) there are new students coming everyday the rest of this week till Saturday, I'll be in a dorm with 19 girls.
And on Monday school starts! Ya'll have a good day! Thanks for praying!
